Reuven Kahane

Author, Writer & Commentator

Reuven Kahane is an American author, writer, entrepreneur and longtime real estate investor whose work explores Jewish life, Israel, American society, antisemitism and the forces reshaping contemporary culture.

Kahane has written commentary and essays for publications including The Jerusalem PostThe Times of Israel and The New York Jewish Week, addressing subjects ranging from Jewish identity and Israel to politics, culture and the changing American landscape.

He is currently the author of a forthcoming dystopian novel set in a near-future America confronting escalating antisemitism and political violence. At its center is a father’s search for his missing daughter after his family is shattered—part family story, part warning about how quickly a society can change and how easily history can return in forms people once believed impossible.

Before turning increasingly to writing, Kahane spent more than three decades as a real estate investor and entrepreneur. Through RKRE, he has participated in billions of dollars of real estate transactions across the United States. In 2013, he attracted national attention with a $2.25 billion bid for the Empire State Building.

Earlier in his career, Kahane founded Bonkers Bagels in Israel, building the business into a 21-location restaurant company with approximately 160 employees.

Kahane is also an ordained rabbi and attorney. He holds an advanced degree in religious studies and a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
